Jax was born in the area of Upstate New York. Jax Payne was a former NYPD officer back in his prime. With a loving wife and kids, life was going well for Jax.
One night he was patrolling with the windows down, and the radio crackled through the brisk artic air. A break and enter in progress was pinpointing Jax’s home address. Three men broke into the Payne residence and murdered Jax’s wife who was a District Attorney office worker, and his daughter, Rose. Jax arrived in the middle of the break-in and killed the intruders, but he was unable to save his wife and daughter. They had been murdered in cold blood. While the event itself was brief, it had a prominent effect on Jax’s actions and nightmares during the years that followed the incident.
Jax then went undercover in the mob and through years of tracking down the killers, he discovers one of his police partners had been involved in the murder. Once he found him, he tortured him to find out why he had done it and then went on the run.
Today, Jax Payne resides in VeraCity starting a new life… but he is not the same Jax people knew in New York. Jax now treads in the life of crime but does it in a way for law enforcement to not keep tabs on him. He currently runs along side Sons of Anarchy and is in a relationship with Ava Madison. Its the only family he’s got, and he intends to keep it that way.
